Foundation Studies

Our Foundation Studies courses are for students who may have a learning difficulty or require extra support to access education working from Entry Level 1 to Level 3.

We provide a supported learning environment, independent living skills and employability skills. All the courses run for one year.

There are opportunities to progress within the department and on to a Vocational Programme of study at BCA. Career opportunities can include progression to employment or supported employment in retail, animal care and conservation/horticulture.

The College has an excellent reputation for its courses for
Learners with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities (LLDD).

Our experienced team are highly trained and specialise in
helping people with many different types of difficulties and/
or disabilities to ensure you make the most of your time with us.

Improve Your Independence

You will improve your independence and confidence, develop your employment skills, such as good communication and responsibility, and, where possible, undertake some work experience in our college shop.

Learning

All students within the Foundation Learning programme can complete a Gateway award, Certificate or Diploma qualification. The curriculum offered is individualised to meet their needs as outlined within their Educational Health Care Plan.
